LOGISTEED, formerly known as Hitachi Transport System, is a large, diversified global logistics provider, focusing on innovative, technology-driven solutions. With a strong presence across 19 locations in Thailand, the company has now consolidated its operations with the newly built Theparak Logistics Center (TLC)—a 49,393-square-meter facility designed to enhance Thailand’s supply chain efficiency and strengthen LOGISTEED’s footprint in ASEAN.

To learn more about this investment and how it will impact Thailand’s logistics sector, Logistics Manager (LM) spoke with Mr. Christopher Logan, President of LOGISTEED International; Mr. Ryota Abe, Managing Director of LOGISTEED (Thailand); and Mr. Sirichai Chokdesomrit, Managing Director of Eternity Grand Logistics.

Mr. Christopher Logan

The newly opened TLC facility was developed with a clear focus on multi-temperature storage and efficient distribution. “This facility represents our vision for the future of logistics in Thailand. We are not just building a warehouse; we are creating an integrated solution that adapts to the evolving needs of our clients and the industry,” said Mr. Logan. Unlike traditional logistics hubs that separate ambient and cold storage, TLC integrates all temperature zones in one facility, including ambient, air-conditioned, refrigerated, and frozen storage.

The facility’s strategic location—just 35 km from Bangkok and 25 km from Suvarnabhumi Airport—allows efficient last-mile delivery, while remaining outside Bangkok’s restricted truck zones. The site also complies with strict regulations, as cold chain logistics facilities cannot be built in residential areas.

Mr. Ryota Abe

LOGISTEED has also designed the warehouse for future scalability, with an additional 20,000 to 40,000 square meters available for expansion. “We see this facility not just as a current solution but as an evolving hub for the next generation of logistics. As demand increases, we are prepared to expand our operations swiftly,” noted Mr. Abe

Additionally, TLC is structured to support value-added services (VAS) such as customized packaging, product labeling, and order fulfillment for retail and e-commerce customers. “Our clients increasingly need tailored solutions beyond simple storage and distribution. TLC allows us to offer comprehensive, integrated services that streamline their supply chains,” explained Mr. Sirichai.

Another key design element of TLC is its logistics flexibility. By accommodating both full-truck load (FTL) and less-than-truck load (LTL) shipments, LOGISTEED can cater to businesses of all sizes, from large multinational corporations to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking for cost-effective warehousing and distribution solutions.

TLC is built with cutting-edge infrastructure to ensure efficiency, security, and sustainability. The warehouse features:

  • 58 loading bays designed for seamless inbound and outbound operations.
  • SCADA monitoring system to provide real-time temperature tracking, ensuring compliance for pharmaceuticals and frozen goods.
  • Backup generator (1,500 KVA capacity) capable of restoring power within 13 seconds of an outage, crucial for cold storage.
  • Selective & Mobile Racking Systems, supporting over 10,000 pallet positions for optimized space utilization.
  • 128 CCTV cameras with 90-day data retention, enhancing facility-wide security and compliance.

“We designed TLC with the highest industry standards, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance for all our customers,” said Mr. Sirichai.

“We are aligning TLC with the highest global logistics standards to provide best-in-class services to our clients,” stated Mr. Abe.

To maintain the highest standards in logistics, LOGISTEED is working toward obtaining globally recognized certifications that ensure compliance with international safety and quality standards. Among these certifications, GDP (Good Distribution Practice) ensures that pharmaceutical logistics adhere to stringent regulations, maintaining product integrity and compliance with global health guidelines. GHP (Good Hygiene Practice) is essential for food-grade logistics operations, ensuring that handling, storage, and transportation meet the highest hygiene and safety requirements. Meanwhile, CEIV Pharma (Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics) certifies compliance with IATA standards for pharmaceutical air transportation, enhancing reliability in the supply chain.

These certifications reinforce LOGISTEED’s commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency in specialized logistics sectors such as healthcare, food, and pharmaceutical.

LOGISTEED’s investment in Thailand is part of a broader ASEAN growth strategy. With 19 locations across Thailand, the company is strengthening its cross-border logistics network, connecting Thailand with Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

“Thailand is a key hub in our long-term vision to integrate ASEAN logistics into a seamless network. This facility is just one part of a large ASEAN, network of facilities and logistics solutions” revealed Mr. Logan.

LOGISTEED’s regional logistics operations benefit significantly from Thailand’s integration into ASEAN trade agreements and economic frameworks. Thailand’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) play a crucial role in streamlining customs clearance for LOGISTEED’s clients, reducing trade barriers and facilitating smoother logistics operations across the region. Additionally, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) integration has contributed to reducing tariff barriers and improving cross-border trade facilitation, allowing LOGISTEED to offer more efficient logistics services throughout the ASEAN region. With the increasing demand for cross-border e-commerce logistics, LOGISTEED is well-positioned to support businesses ranging from large enterprises to SMEs, providing seamless distribution solutions across Southeast Asia.

The company is also investing in AI-driven supply chain analytics, using predictive modeling to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste. “Digitalization is no longer a luxury but a necessity in modern logistics. By integrating AI into our processes, enhance efficiency, and deliver better outcomes for our customers,” added Mr. Logan.

LOGISTEED is not only expanding its physical footprint but also investing in developing local talent to ensure that its workforce is equipped with the necessary expertise to support long-term growth. The company conducts weekly knowledge-sharing sessions between Thai teams and Japanese logistics experts, ensuring that local staff gain insights into global best practices and the latest industry advancements. Additionally, to enhance service quality, LOGISTEED has introduced specialized training programs in cold chain logistics, equipping employees with the expertise needed to handle temperature-sensitive cargo effectively. Furthermore, LOGISTEED is focusing on regional workforce exchanges, preparing Thai employees to train teams in Indonesia and Vietnam, and fostering knowledge transfer and operational consistency across markets.

By fostering a skilled, globally competitive workforce, LOGISTEED is ensuring long-term sustainability and operational excellence. “Knowledge transfer is a core pillar of our strategy. We are developing talent that can adapt to industry changes and support our regional growth objectives,” said Mr. Abe. “Our investment in people is as important as our investment in infrastructure. A strong workforce drives innovation and efficiency,” he continued.

With TLC’s launch, LOGISTEED is reinforcing its commitment to Thailand as a logistics powerhouse in the region. By focusing on multi-temperature logistics, digital integration, and sustainability, the company is well-positioned to serve Thailand’s rapidly growing industries.

As the logistics sector evolves, LOGISTEED’s lean decision-making approach, strategic location, and investment in advanced technology will likely set a new industry benchmark, making TLC a model for future logistics hubs in Southeast Asia.

“Thailand’s logistics industry is at a pivotal moment, and we’re excited to play a leading role in shaping its future,” concluded Mr. Logan.
