From its beginnings as a customs clearance and tax services provider in 1987 to its current role as an integrated logistics provider, Acutech is marking four decades of growth as it prepares for its next chapter, combining established expertise with a new generation of leadership and a continued focus on reliable, cost-effective and efficient services.
In an operating environment shaped by rapid economic, social and environmental change, the logistics industry is under constant pressure to adapt to new challenges and ongoing volatility. Throughout four decades of change, Acutech has continued to support its customers by drawing on extensive industry knowledge, specialist expertise and a deep understanding of international trade.
As the company enters its next chapter, Acutech is also preparing for a generational transition in leadership. A new generation of executives is building on the foundations established over the past 40 years, combining the company’s long-standing values and experience with new ideas, technologies and approaches designed to support sustainable growth.
To mark this important milestone, LM had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Samatha Meteeputthi, Managing Director, together with Ms. Charucha Meteeputthi and Mr. Kasidet Meteeputthi, General Managers and next-generation executives of Acutech, about the company’s journey over the past four decades and the management approach that will shape its future development.
Four Decades of Growth and Success

Acutech’s origins distinguish it from many conventional logistics service providers. Following its establishment in 1987, the company initially focused on services related to customs clearance, taxation and trade privileges. These included import and export duty exemptions and rebates, together with the utilization of customs and trade benefits designed to reduce costs and support the competitiveness of Thai businesses.
This work included extensive use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), administered through Thailand’s Department of Foreign Trade. At the time, providing these services required a high level of precision, specialist knowledge and strict regulatory compliance, while experienced professionals in the field remained relatively limited.
As one of the early specialists in this area, Acutech developed extensive expertise in managing taxation, customs procedures and the additional costs associated with importing and exporting goods. This experience gave the company a broader understanding of the factors affecting customers’ overall supply chain costs.
Acutech recognized that effective cost management depended on more than freight rates alone. Customs privileges, taxation structures and regulatory requirements could also have a significant impact on the total cost of importing and exporting goods and, ultimately, on a company’s competitiveness.
Building on this expertise, Acutech gradually expanded from its original role as a tax and customs specialist into a comprehensive provider of logistics and customs clearance solutions, developing services designed to address customers’ wider supply chain requirements.
Over the past four decades, the company has continued to broaden its capabilities. In addition to tax and customs clearance services, Acutech now provides international ocean and air freight forwarding, cross-border transport, warehouse management and a range of other logistics solutions. This broader service portfolio allows the company to evaluate different transportation and supply chain options according to customers’ requirements for cost, performance and reliability.
Alongside the expansion of its services, Acutech has maintained a strong focus on operational standards and regulatory compliance. The company has achieved ISO 9001 certification and is recognized as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) by the Customs Department. It is also a member of the Thai Airfreight Forwarders Association (TAFA), the Thai Customs Brokers Association (TACBA) and JCtrans, a global B2B network for international freight forwarders.
Supported by an advisory team with first-hand customs experience, Acutech places particular emphasis on accuracy, regulatory compliance and the consistent application of professional standards across its operations.
Today, the company operates through strategically located offices in Ekkamai, Laem Chabang and Suvarnabhumi, together with warehouse facilities, and is supported by more than 250 employees. Its end-to-end capabilities extend from tax and customs planning, import and export handling, transportation and warehouse management to distribution, multimodal freight, cross-border transportation, consultancy and other supply chain management services. These capabilities also include services for dangerous goods authorised by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT).
Together, these services have supported Acutech’s evolution into an integrated logistics service provider capable of managing increasingly complex customer requirements.

Going Beyond with a New Generation
Throughout its development, Acutech has built its operations around two fundamental principles: maintaining customer trust and continuously improving its own capabilities.
From the company’s earliest years, accuracy, integrity and responsibility have been central to its approach, particularly because mistakes involving customs procedures, taxation or logistics operations can directly affect customers’ businesses. These values are now being carried forward by Acutech’s next generation of executives.
Ms. Charucha and Mr. Kasidet are combining the company’s four decades of experience with new perspectives and technologies, including digitalisation and environmental initiatives, while maintaining the service standards and operating principles on which Acutech has built its reputation.

As Acutech moves into this new phase, its management believes that sustainable competitiveness cannot be achieved through price competition alone. Instead, the company is placing greater emphasis on operational efficiency, service quality and effective cost management.
This approach includes continued investment in quality management systems, workforce development and clearly established standard operating procedures across each stage of the company’s operations. Technology is also being adopted to reduce errors and improve efficiency, while Acutech continues to strengthen relationships with international partners to support cost control and consistent service standards across its network.
“For Acutech, clients are not simply service users. We see them as partners who grow alongside us. The strong relationships and trust we have built over the past 40 years have provided an important foundation for Acutech’s continued growth,” Mr. Samatha said. “No matter how the business environment changes, Acutech will remain a committed partner, ready to provide advice, work alongside our clients to overcome challenges and support their success.”
Innovating for the Future
Technology is becoming increasingly important to Acutech’s plans for future development. The company has invested in digital systems designed to improve connectivity between customers, government agencies and business partners, helping to make processes faster, more transparent and easier to verify.

Acutech is also using data more extensively to improve transport planning, manage costs and provide real-time cargo visibility. By integrating information across different stages of the logistics process, the company aims to strengthen operational efficiency while providing customers with greater visibility and more responsive service experience.
“As society continues its transition towards digital systems, the tools and working methods we use will continue to evolve to provide greater speed, accuracy, transparency and traceability,” Mr. Kasidet said. “What will not change is our commitment to accuracy and responsibility. Customers can remain confident that they will continue to receive attentive service supported by reliable information and professional standards.”
Looking ahead, Acutech plans to increase its investment in Digital Logistics and artificial intelligence technologies as part of its efforts to further improve service efficiency and respond to changing customer requirements in an increasingly digital business environment.
Advancing Green Logistics and People Development
Acutech believes that sustainable business growth must also incorporate environmental responsibility. As a result, the company is taking steps to reduce the environmental impact of its operations while developing the foundations for a broader Green Logistics strategy.
These measures include increasing the use of digital systems to support paperless operations, applying smarter route planning to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, improving cargo space utilisation and working with business partners that share its commitment to reducing environmental impact.
While individual initiatives may be incremental, Acutech believes that continuous and measurable progress is essential to establishing a strong foundation for more sustainable logistics operations over the long term.
The company also sees its people as a central part of sustainable growth. Acutech therefore continues to invest in employee development across areas including professional logistics expertise, customs regulations, international trade, technology and management.
Employees are encouraged to participate in training programmes and obtain relevant professional certifications, helping the company maintain high standards of competence while keeping its workforce up to date with changing regulations, technologies and industry requirements.
Acutech also promotes an open organisational culture in which employees are encouraged to learn, exchange ideas and develop alongside the business. The company believes that a capable and knowledgeable workforce plays an essential role in maintaining service quality and strengthening customer confidence.
By combining environmental responsibility with continued investment in its people, Acutech aims to create long-term value not only for the business and its customers, but also for its employees, partners, society and the wider environment.

Building on 40 Years of Experience
Over the past four decades, Acutech has accumulated extensive experience while establishing a strong foundation in logistics, customs clearance and international trade services. As it looks towards its next phase of development, the company aims to build on these capabilities and strengthen its position as a regional provider of integrated logistics and customs solutions.

This ambition comes at a time when customers are facing increasingly complex supply chains, changing trade regulations and a more challenging global business environment. Acutech therefore intends to continue developing its capabilities around three core pillars: technology, people and innovation.
At the same time, the company plans to expand its range of value-added services, including customs consultancy, tax benefit planning and supply chain management, while continuing the development of Digital Logistics solutions to improve operational efficiency and help customers compete more effectively in international markets.
“Throughout the past 40 years, Acutech has never stopped moving forward or developing its capabilities,” Ms. Charucha concluded. “From our beginnings as specialists in taxation and customs clearance, we have evolved into an integrated logistics provider that combines decades of experience with solutions designed for the needs of modern businesses. No matter how the global logistics landscape changes, the principle at the heart of Acutech remains the same. We want to be a trusted partner that stands alongside our clients, supports their growth and continues to develop sustainably with them, just as we have done from the very beginning.”
