PSA Singapore (PSA) has reached a total throughput milestone of 25 million TEUs handled at Tuas Port since operations initially began in September 2022.
The volume milestone highlights the rapid operational ramp-up of the fully automated mega-terminal as it expands its role within global transhipment networks.
Berth Expansion and Operational Infrastructure
Designed as a primary node under PSA Group’s “Node to Network” supply chain strategy, Tuas Port integrates automated container handling with broader digital logistics services.
Key operational figures and expansion metrics include:
- Current Capacity: Operating with 14 active berths, handling containerized transhipment and gateway cargo.
- Future Growth: On track to expand to 18 operational berths by 2027 as construction and equipment deployment continue.
- Network Integration: Links regional feeder and main-lane vessel calls through Singapore directly with PSA’s international terminal network.
Strategic Leadership Perspectives
Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, emphasized that Tuas Port’s integrated logistics ecosystem is structured to help shippers navigate increasingly complex global trade flows through automated operational coordination.
Nelson Quek, Regional CEO Southeast Asia for PSA International, credited the throughput milestone to sustained collaboration across terminal unions, shipping line partners, and local port stakeholders.
