Rhenus 4PL Solutions GmbH will provide advanced digital logistics to Looper Textile Co., a joint venture between REMONDIS and the H&M Group. As a contractual partner to REMONDIS, Rhenus will implement a customized 4PL Control Tower to manage and optimize the complex logistics of textile reuse and recycling.

Looper Textile Co. collects, sorts, and processes up to 150 million garments annually. The partnership aims to enhance efficiency and transparency across its supply chain, which is a crucial component of the circular economy.

Transparent Management for Circular Textile Flows

The digital 4PL Control Tower, a central platform provided by Rhenus, will enable the real-time coordination and monitoring of all logistics activities. As a Fourth Party Logistics provider, Rhenus will assume overarching responsibility for managing logistics partners and processes. The system is specifically tailored to the requirements of circular logistics, ensuring seamless data-driven operations and end-to-end visibility.

Chris Gerfertz, Managing Global Director at Rhenus 4PL Solutions, highlighted that the Control Tower’s ability to provide a central platform is crucial for achieving Looper Textile Co.’s goals. He added that the collaboration shows how Rhenus and REMONDIS, both part of the Rethmann Group, are combining their strengths to drive practical and scalable solutions for circular textile flows.

Driving the Future of Textile Reuse and Recycling

Looper Textile Co. operates sorting facilities in Germany and Poland and works with a global network of partners to process valuable textile resources. In 2024, the company sorted over 72 million garments, with 65% designated for reuse and 25% for recycling. Looper is also advancing its capabilities with a pilot line for automated sorting, utilizing near-infrared and optical sensor technology to meet the precise material requirements of emerging textile-to-textile recycling solutions.
