The Thai International Cargo and Container Terminals Association (TICTA) has continued its commitment to social responsibility throughout 2026, bringing members and public- and private-sector partners together to support healthcare, assist flood-affected communities, and contribute to environmental conservation.

With activities ranging from hospital fundraising and health screenings to mangrove planting and community meal programs, the association’s initiatives reflect a shared commitment to improving well-being in the communities surrounding Thailand’s port operations and beyond.

Supporting Local Healthcare

Healthcare support formed a key part of TICTA’s CSR activities this year. On September 29, the association joined the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT), Laem Chabang Port, and private-sector organizations in supporting the donation of medical equipment worth more than THB 900,000 to Laem Chabang Hospital in Chonburi.

TICTA contributed THB 120,000 toward the donation, raised through its annual golf tournament held on June 26 at Chee Chan Golf Resort in Chonburi. Under the theme “Shared Fairways, Shared Success,” the event brought together member terminal operators and partners from the public and private sectors, combining networking with fundraising for the hospital.

During the September visit, the delegation also received a briefing on the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and reviewed its operations, gaining insight into the work of medical personnel and the facilities and equipment needed to treat critically ill patients.

The contribution followed TICTA’s support for preventive healthcare earlier in the year. On May 6, the association collaborated with Laem Chabang Port to support a booth offering ovarian and prostate cancer screenings at the eighth Nakhon Laem Chabang Health Fair. The THB 20,000 contribution helped expand access to health screening services and promote awareness of early detection.

Responding to Community Needs

TICTA also extended its support to communities affected by flooding. On October 2, Mr. Anat Machima, Chairman of TICTA, together with committee members and association representatives, donated 200 sets of essential consumer goods for flood victims in Tha Muang and Tha Maka districts of Kanchanaburi.

The handover took place at PAT ARENA at the Port Authority of Thailand, with Mr. Sanphet Bunyamanee, Deputy Minister of Transport, and Mr. Decha Phrukpatthanarak, Chairman of PAT’s Board of Directors, participating in the relief effort.

Closer to its members’ operations, TICTA contributed THB 18,000 in funding and donation lunches for child development centers through the “Meals for Children” program, as part of activities marking Laem Chabang Port’s 35th anniversary.

Contributing to Environmental Conservation

Environmental responsibility remained another focus of the association’s activities. On July 23, TICTA members participated in a tree-planting ceremony at the Ban Laem Chabang Community Mangrove Forest in honor of His Majesty the King’s 74th birthday on July 28.

Mr. Machima delivered the opening remarks and led members in planting trees to support mangrove restoration and expand green spaces.

On June 19, TICTA also joined a volunteer litter-picking activity organized by Laem Chabang Port at Main Gate No. 1 in honor of Her Majesty the Queen’s 48th birthday. Port staff, terminal operators, and transport operator representatives worked together to maintain a clean and safe port environment.

Beyond Chonburi, the association donated THB 20,000 to support the 11th annual check dam construction project in Mae On district, Chiang Mai. Guided by the King’s philosophy, the initiative promotes water conservation, ecosystem restoration, and long-term community well-being.

Through these activities, TICTA continues to translate collaboration among its members and partners into practical community support. Its 2026 initiatives demonstrate how the terminal industry can contribute to local healthcare, respond to urgent needs and take part in caring for the environment.
