PSA International (PSA) has reached a historic milestone in global maritime logistics, handling a record 105 million TEUs across its worldwide port network for the year ending 31 December 2025. This achievement represents a 5% year-on-year increase and marks the second consecutive year the group has surpassed the 100-million TEU threshold.
The primary engine of this growth was PSA’s flagship operation in Singapore, which registered a record-breaking 44.5 million TEUs, an 8% increase from 2024. Terminals outside of Singapore contributed an additional 60.4 million TEUs, a steady 2% rise that highlights the resilience of PSA’s international portfolio across 45 countries.
Navigating Global Volatility through Connectivity
The 2025 performance was achieved against a backdrop of significant geopolitical shifts, Red Sea diversions, and evolving trade patterns. PSA’s “Node to Network” strategy proved vital in absorbing these variabilities, positioning Singapore as a critical “buffer” hub for global shipping lines.
Group Chairman Peter Voser attributed the record results to strong collaboration with partners and a resolve to adapt to technological and climate disruptions. He noted that PSA remains committed to creating value through its diverse portfolio, which now spans far beyond traditional port operations into marine services, digital enablements, and complex supply chain solutions.
Strategic Expansion and Digital Innovation
Throughout 2025, PSA continued to strengthen the fabric of its global ecosystem with several key infrastructure and digital projects:
- Capacity Growth: Significant progress was made on the expansion of Terminal 2 at King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and the inauguration of Phase 2 at the Mumbai terminal, which doubled its annual capacity.
- Singapore Consolidation: The ongoing transformation of Tuas Port remains a central pillar of PSA’s long-term strategy, with the hub recently surpassing the 10-million TEU milestone in early 2025 as it moves toward becoming the world’s largest fully automated terminal.
- Digital Enablement: The launch of digital platforms like OptEModal has enhanced sea-air connectivity, while the universal adoption of digital bunkering in Singapore has streamlined transactions for mega-vessels.
Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, emphasized that effective coordination across supply chain nodes has never been more critical. He affirmed that PSA will continue to advance its global capabilities to ensure a resilient network that underpins sustainable global trade.
