MSC Dragon Jade Services New Mediterranean Direct Calls

Strategic Upgrades Slash Transit Times from Asia to Italy and France

MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) has announced significant enhancements to its Dragon and Jade services, aimed at delivering faster transit times and improved connectivity on the Asia–Mediterranean trade lane. The upgrades introduce new direct calls to key ports in Italy and France, specifically designed to bypass regional bottlenecks and provide better access to Central European and Southern French markets.

Dragon Service: The New Gateway to the Adriatic

The Dragon service has been reconfigured to include a new direct call at the Trieste Marine Terminal (TMT) in Italy. This addition improves current transit times to the Adriatic by five days, offering a competitive edge for cargo destined for the “bridge” markets of Austria, Serbia, Slovakia, and Hungary.

  • Enhanced Connectivity: The call provides seamless inland access to Koper, Rijeka, Venice, Ravenna, and Ancona.
  • Maiden Voyage: The first vessel on the upgraded rotation is the MSC Thais (voyage FD608W), which is scheduled to depart Busan on 18 February 2026 and arrive in Trieste on approximately 10 April.

Full Rotation:

Busan – Ningbo – Shanghai – Nansha – Yantian – Singapore – Trieste – Gioia Tauro – Genoa – La Spezia – Sines – New York – Boston – Norfolk – Charleston – Freeport – Busan.

Jade Service: Direct Access to Southern France

The Jade service will now feature a new direct call to Fos-sur-Mer, reducing transit times from Asia to Southern France by seven days. This upgrade strengthens MSC’s position in the French market, providing a faster alternative for retail and industrial importers in the region.

  • Maiden Voyage: The service upgrade begins with the MSC Mette (voyage GJ607W), expected to arrive in Qingdao on 10 February 2026.

Full Rotation:

Qingdao – Busan – Ningbo – Shanghai – Xiamen – Yantian – Singapore – Valencia – Barcelona – Fos-sur-Mer – Gioia Tauro – Singapore – Qingdao.

Faster Access to Key Markets

These strategic improvements reaffirm MSC’s commitment to providing flexible and customer-focused shipping solutions. By adding direct calls to Trieste and Fos-sur-Mer, MSC is effectively creating faster corridors into the heart of Europe, reducing dependency on transshipment and lowering overall supply chain costs for shippers.
