The Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) has officially marked its 75th founding anniversary with a special commemorative ceremony at the PAT Arena. Led by Sub Lt. Rutthakorn Khiewpaisal, Deputy Director of Financial Management and Corporate Strategy and Acting Director of PAT, the milestone event was attended by senior executives and employee representatives.

The anniversary included traditional worship rituals for the organization’s sacred shrines around the PAT headquarters, followed by a charitable presentation ceremony distributing donations to local non-profit organizations and an employee awards presentation recognizing long-term service.

Transitioning into a Smart and Green Port Hub

As part of the 75th-anniversary milestone, PAT reaffirmed its long-term commitment to organizational development, specifically focused on adapting to changing global trade dynamics. The core of PAT’s future development strategy relies on a full transition into a Smart & Green Port model, balancing massive technological upgrades with environmental stewardship.

Key Strategic Objectives Include:

  • Automation and Digitalization: Upgrading terminal operating systems and digital infrastructure across major gateways like Bangkok Port and Laem Chabang Port to accelerate container throughput and lower administrative turnaround times.
  • Environmental Responsibility: Introducing carbon-reduction initiatives, eco-friendly cargo handling equipment, and sustainable energy solutions to protect local ecosystems and surrounding communities.
  • Social Welfare: Maintaining a strong focus on community care, corporate social responsibility, and occupational health and safety standards for the maritime workforce.

Integrating Regional and Global Supply Chains

Looking toward the future, PAT intends to strengthen its regional transportation network integration under its updated corporate vision: “To strive towards world-class port standards, delivering excellent logistics services for sustainable growth.”

By positioning its infrastructure as a seamless maritime gateway, the authority aims to serve as a reliable partner that grows alongside Thai entrepreneurs. This comprehensive approach is designed to bolster operational efficiency, establish a better-connected domestic transit grid, and solidly secure Thailand’s position as a premier logistics hub connecting the broader Southeast Asian region to global trade networks.
