CEVA Logistics Far East–Latin America Connectivity

CEVA Logistics has expanded its global roll-on, roll-off (RORO) operations with the addition of three deep-sea car carrier vessels, strengthening its finished vehicle logistics (FVL) offering between the Far East and Central and South America. The new vessels, each with a capacity of 5,500 to 7,000 car equivalent units (CEUs), enable CEVA to offer a mix of regular trade lane services and flexible spot solutions for automotive manufacturers and equipment suppliers.

The new trade lane service provides direct connections from China, South Korea, and Japan to key ports on the west coast of Latin America, including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, and Chile. With these additions, CEVA now operates a fleet of nine deep-sea and short-sea vessels across four major trade lanes.

Since the launch of its RORO operations, CEVA has transported over 225,000 vehicles, including heavy machinery and oversized equipment. In 2024 alone, its FVL network supported the transport of more than 6.1 million vehicles globally, leveraging both its maritime and inland logistics capabilities.

Integrated End-to-End Automotive Solutions

CEVA’s expanded RORO fleet complements its extensive inland solutions, which include trucking and rail services from factory gates to ports of origin, and onward from destination ports to final dealer locations. In Latin America, CEVA’s network of vehicle compounds and transport assets enables seamless unloading, processing, and distribution within automakers’ supply chains.

“With end-to-end solutions from factory to dealer, this expansion of our RORO vessel fleet directly reflects the value we offer our customers,” said Emmanuel Cheremetinski, Global FVL Leader at CEVA Logistics. “The additional vessels allow us to provide both reliability and flexibility through our new regular trade lane rotation and our global spot solutions.”

Flexible Spot Services

CEVA also continues to offer tailored spot rotations for customers with specific route requirements. In the first quarter of 2025, the 5,500-CEU vessel Lake Fuxian completed a multi-stop delivery from China to South Africa’s Port of Durban before continuing on to Vitoria, Brazil, to deliver 2,500 vehicles and construction equipment.

The expansion of CEVA’s RORO capacity underscores its strategy to provide scalable, global solutions for the automotive industry while meeting the diverse logistics needs of manufacturers, distributors, and dealers across continents.
