Terminal operator TIPS Co., Ltd. has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic collaboration with the Asian Maritime Technological College (AMCOL), establishing a strategic framework to bridge higher education with real-world maritime operations.

The agreement focuses on expanding work-integrated learning, internship programs, and practical training for AMCOL students at TIPS container terminal facilities. By giving students direct exposure to modern port operations and supply chain logistics, the initiative aims to build a highly skilled workforce tailored to the evolving demands of Thailand’s shipping and maritime sectors.

Strengthening Academic and Industry Synergies

Under the MOU, TIPS Co., Ltd. and AMCOL will collaborate on several core developmental initiatives:

• Curriculum & Academic Alignment: Jointly refining educational programs to match international maritime safety, technology, and operational standards.
• Work-Integrated Learning: Providing structured internships and practical placement opportunities within active terminal and logistics environments.
• Skill & Competency Development: Leveraging industry expertise from TIPS operational leaders to mentor students and enhance career readiness prior to graduation.

The collaboration supports Thailand’s broader economic goals by developing a competitive, future-ready talent pool to manage expanding trade volumes across eastern seaboard logistics hubs.

Official MOU Signing Ceremony

The signing ceremony brought together senior leadership from both institutions to formalize the partnership. AMCOL was represented by College President Dr. Chalermvut Thansuvan and College Director Mr. Phat Noradee. Representing TIPS Co., Ltd. were Vice President Mr. Teerapol Shinno and Corporate Administration Department Manager Ms. Charunee Loundee.
