This expansion builds on 15 years of expertise in cross-border ASEAN trucking under its vision, ‘Connecting ASEAN to the World’, which focuses on efficiently linking regional logistics networks with international markets.

As part of its growth strategy, Sky International Transport has taken a significant step by launching a new freight forwarding office at Suvarnabhumi Airport (AO3), one of the region’s major air cargo hubs. Strategically located, the new office enhances the company’s ability to coordinate seamlessly with airlines, overseas consignees, and global business partners, while elevating service standards to deliver faster, smoother, and internationally competitive freight forwarding solutions. The company remains committed to continuously strengthening its service capabilities and strategic partnerships to support Thai and ASEAN shippers as they expand onto the global stage in a resilient and sustainable manner.

In this issue, LM speaks with Mr. Kongkiat Pahama and Mrs. Ruengrat Phuchayun, General Managers of Sky International Transport, about the company’s adaptation strategies amid unpredictable border conditions and global trade uncertainties, its transformation into a comprehensive end-to-end freight forwarder, the launch of its new Suvarnabhumi office, and its strategic roadmap for further capacity expansion and competitiveness.

As a leading Thai cross-border transport provider, Sky International Transport operates with the mission of advancing regional logistics and strengthening connectivity between Thailand and neighboring markets through a strong operational foundation and a global outlook.

In 2025, faced with border disruptions and external uncertainties beyond its control, the company undertook a significant strategic transformation by expanding into comprehensive freight forwarding services. This shift extended its reach from regional connectivity to global logistics networks, encompassing air freight, maritime transport, domestic distribution, and cross-border logistics, and reinforcing its position as a fully integrated logistics solutions provider.

Reflecting on this transition, Mr. Kongkiat said, “We turned crisis into opportunity by expanding our market reach and establishing a new business unit covering both air and sea freight forwarding, alongside our core expertise in trucking. We are committed to building a strong network that connects our headquarters in Thailand with partners across ASEAN and worldwide under the ‘Connecting ASEAN to the World’ vision. This strategic move generated more than 400 million baht in revenue in 2025, the highest since the company was established.”

Building on its professional cross-border trucking foundation, the new business unit is designed to deliver comprehensive door-to-door transportation solutions. Services cover overseas origins, inland logistics through key gateways such as Bangkok Port, Laem Chabang Port, Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, and Phuket Airport, as well as domestic distribution and ASEAN connectivity, forming a truly end-to-end logistics system.

Beyond service and product development, the company’s investment in people has played a critical role in navigating challenges and driving sustainable growth.

Mrs. Ruengrat emphasized, “We place strong importance on human resource development. Today, we have built a sales team with deep expertise in products and marketing, supported by experienced international professionals. This team has prepared us to expand our service portfolio in line with our new strategy. These enhancements strengthened our confidence in launching the new Suvarnabhumi office, enabling us to serve customers with greater speed and efficiency while supporting long-term growth.”

The successful launch of Sky International Transport’s first overseas branch in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, marked an important milestone for the company. This expansion strengthened cross-border operational stability and generated increased business flows for customers, establishing a proven model for regional growth.

Building on this foundation, the company advanced to the next phase of its strategic expansion. After strengthening its freight forwarding capabilities, operational systems, and personnel readiness, Sky International Transport proceeded with the launch of its new Suvarnabhumi office (AO3). Officially opening in late February, the office will serve as a strategic air cargo hub and a critical connection point linking ASEAN logistics networks with global markets.

Mrs. Ruengrat explained, “The Suvarnabhumi office represents a key piece of strategic infrastructure for our organization. It enables seamless integration of air freight with our inland logistics network and core expertise, strengthening responsiveness, resilience, and our ability to manage more complex shipments. At the same time, it allows us to work more closely with overseas partners and corporate clients, further enhancing our service capabilities.”

The ‘Connecting ASEAN to the World’ vision underpins Sky International Transport’s transformation from a Thailand and ASEAN-focused transport provider into a fully integrated, global end-to-end logistics company. With 15 years of experience in cross-border trucking, the company has established a strong foundation in operational infrastructure, partner networks, and specialized expertise, positioning it to expand systematically and sustainably into the global market.

Today, Sky International Transport delivers comprehensive logistics solutions covering domestic transportation, cross-border services, customs clearance, and international freight by land, sea, and air. The company has a clear objective of evolving into a one-stop logistics service provider that addresses every dimension of customer requirements while maintaining full compliance with international standards.

Looking ahead, once cross-border conditions stabilize and policy directions become clearer, the company plans to establish a new branch in Yangon, Myanmar, to further support cross-border trade growth and the development of international transport networks. In parallel, Sky International Transport intends to enhance its service portfolio by introducing a Less than Container Load (LCL) department, expanding service diversity and enabling more flexible solutions across industries.

Mr. Kongkiat concluded, “Through our earlier strategic advancements, we have built strong networks, a well-prepared operational structure, and a specialized professional team. Sky International Transport is now ready to take the next step towards becoming a global-standard freight forwarder, supporting the growth of our regional customers and partners while advancing our organization onto the global stage in a sustainable manner.”
