PIL Celonis WNS Process Intelligence Centre of Excellence

Container shipping operator Pacific International Lines (PIL) has partnered with process intelligence firm Celonis and transformation specialist WNS (part of Capgemini) to expand its global Process Intelligence Centre of Excellence (CoE).

The initiative supports PIL’s digital transformation roadmap across its network spanning 90 countries and a fleet of over 100 container vessels.

Digital Twin Architecture and Operational Goals

PIL is deploying the Celonis Platform to establish a real-time digital twin of its global shipping operations. WNS brings specialized domain knowledge in maritime and logistics operations to integrate the platform’s process analytics directly into PIL’s core management systems.

Key objectives of the expanded CoE include:

  • Global Workflow Visibility: Provides end-to-end operational transparency across customer-facing and back-office logistics processes.
  • Standardization and Efficiency: Identifies and resolves operational bottlenecks by standardizing procedures across global trade lanes.
  • Enterprise AI Readiness: Establishes a structured operational data framework to deploy scalable, AI-driven process automation.

Executive Insights

Lionel Chatelet, Chief Commercial Officer at PIL, noted that process intelligence helps overcome the challenges of managing disparate systems across worldwide offices by providing a single operational view.

Pascal Coubard, Vice President APAC at Celonis, and Jaison Augustine, Business Unit Head for Shipping & Logistics at WNS, stated that pairing process context with industry-specific domain expertise provides PIL with a permanent framework for continuous process optimization.
