SeaLead, a fast-growing global shipping line, has significantly strengthened its presence in Europe with the establishment of its own entity in Spain, located in Barcelona. Operations are set to commence immediately, marking a key step in the company’s global expansion strategy. SeaLead is also evaluating additional offices in key locations across Spain to further enhance regional connectivity.
To lead its Spanish operations, Albert Oñate has been appointed Managing Director. Oñate brings over 40 years of experience in the shipping industry, having previously served as head of China Shipping, Spain, and COSCO Shipping, Spain, until 2023. His extensive expertise in both local and global shipping markets will be instrumental in SeaLead’s growth.
Since September 2024, SeaLead has offered a regular Spain, Türkiye, Morocco (STM) service, covering the key Spanish ports of Barcelona and Valencia. This service complements SeaLead’s existing network, providing links to Asia, the Middle East, the North American East Coast, South America, and Africa.
