Tailor-Made Solutions for “Giga-Scale” Infrastructure Projects in the GCC
MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) is set to participate in Breakbulk Middle East 2026, the region’s largest gathering for the project cargo and heavy-lift industry. From 4–5 February, MSC’s global experts will be stationed at Hall 7, Booth M30 in the Dubai World Trade Centre to present their latest end-to-end logistics strategies for the massive industrial projects currently transforming the Middle East.
As the region accelerates its “Giga-project” developments, MSC is positioning itself as more than a carrier, offering integrated road, rail, and barge solutions to navigate the complexities of oversized and high-value transport.
Precision Planning: The Engineering Behind the Move
MSC highlights that successful project cargo begins long before a vessel arrives at the berth. The company utilizes a rigorous preparation process to mitigate risk for out-of-gauge (OOG) and breakbulk shipments:
- 3D Modelling & Feasibility: Experts use advanced 3D modelling to simulate handling, stowage, and lashing requirements. This prevents costly errors and ensures compliance with the IMO CSS Code Annex 13 for breakbulk stowed on container ships.
- Specialized Equipment: For cargo exceeding standard dimensions, MSC deploys an extensive inventory of flat racks, platforms, and open-top units.
- Heavy-Lift Infrastructure: The group utilizes a combination of floating cranes, container-lift trailers, and advanced securing systems to manage everything from mining excavators to power generation turbines.
End-to-End Intermodal Connectivity
A central theme for MSC at the 2026 event is its expanding intermodal network in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. By linking its maritime services with dedicated trucking fleets and rail-linked inland container depots (ICDs), MSC provides a seamless door-to-door journey. This is particularly critical for the energy and construction sectors, where precise timing at remote project sites is essential to prevent operational delays.
Visitors to Booth M30 can meet with specialists from over 12 Middle Eastern countries to discuss bespoke routing options that bypass infrastructure bottlenecks and leverage MSC’s strategic hubs in Jebel Ali, Dammam, and Salalah.
