Kale Logistics Solutions, in partnership with local firm Novel Muscat, has secured a major contract from Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) to build and operate the country’s new National Port Community System (NPCS). The platform will serve as a centralised digital solution, streamlining multimodal cargo operations across Oman’s ports, airports, land ports, and free zones.
The project was formally announced during Oman Logistics Day in Muscat, attended by MTCIT leadership, Gulf Cooperation Council representatives, and World Bank officials, highlighting the initiative’s strategic importance to Oman’s long-term logistics development.
Designed as part of Oman’s Logistics Sector Strategy 2040, the NPCS supports four national priorities: market development, trade facilitation, employment growth through Omanisation, and technology adoption to enhance competitiveness. By digitising cargo handling processes across all transport hubs, the platform aims to simplify international trade procedures, improve operational efficiency, and position Oman as a regional logistics hub.
“This is a significant honour for Kale, and we deeply appreciate the vision of Oman’s Ministry in advancing its logistics capabilities through the NPCS,” said Vineet Malhotra, Co-Founder and Director of Kale Logistics Solutions. “The system will deliver operational efficiencies, strengthen trade facilitation, support job creation, and contribute directly to Oman’s economic growth.”
Phase I of the NPCS rollout will focus on Oman’s port network, with later stages extending coverage to all other cargo transport modes. The platform is also expected to help improve Oman’s standing in global logistics performance rankings and support the broader national goal of building a sustainable, resilient logistics sector.
