Interasia Eight New Container Vessels

Interasia has announced a major step in its fleet expansion strategy, signing a shipbuilding contract with Jiangsu YangZiJiang Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd. (YZJ) for six new 2,900 TEU container vessels, with an option for two additional vessels.

First Collaboration with YZJ

The official signing ceremony took place at YZJ’s main office on August 14, 2025. The contract was signed by Mr. Brendan Williams, Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Interasia, and Mr. Ji Hongfei, Vice General Manager of YZJ. This agreement marks Interasia’s first shipbuilding collaboration with YZJ.

This significant milestone reflects Interasia’s commitment to strengthening its position in the competitive Intra-Asia market and beyond. The new vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2028, and are intended to enhance Interasia’s capacity to remain at the forefront of sustainable and efficient shipping practices. The company expressed appreciation for the continued trust and support of its customers and partners, emphasizing that together they are shaping the future of shipping.
