Interasia Lines has announced the launch of its new direct India-East Africa Service (IEX), establishing a dedicated liner connection between major West Indian ports and key trade gateways in East Africa.
Scheduled to commence operations around September 2026, the service represents a major expansion of Interasia’s network beyond its core Intra-Asia and Indian Subcontinent trade corridors.
Service Rotation and Operational Details
The IEX service will operate on a 35-day round-trip rotation, with Interasia contributing one vessel to the joint deployment.
Key service parameters include:
- Port Rotation: Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Dar Es Salaam – Mombasa – Nhava Sheva.
- Direct Regional Links: Directly connects India’s primary West Coast hub ports (Nhava Sheva and Mundra) with main gateways in Tanzania (Dar Es Salaam) and Kenya (Mombasa).
- Schedule Reliability: Provides shippers and consignees with fixed routing options and enhanced schedule integrity across the Indian Ocean trade lane.
Strategic Network Expansion
The introduction of the IEX loop expands Interasia’s overall market presence in Africa-related trade lanes, supporting growing bilateral trade flows between India and East Africa while advancing the carrier’s long-term global network strategy.
