DHL Asia Pacific Data Center Logistics Capabilities

DHL Supply Chain has expanded its data centre logistics capabilities across the Asia Pacific region, strengthening its ability to support hyperscalers and data centre operators as demand for AI infrastructure and digital connectivity continues to accelerate.

The expansion includes more than 30,000 square metres of dedicated warehouse space already in operation across the region, with a further 130,000 square metres of committed and built-to-suit facilities in Malaysia and Thailand scheduled to become operational over the next two years. Once completed, DHL will operate more than 160,000 square metres of dedicated data centre logistics infrastructure across key Asia Pacific markets.

Supporting Regional Data Centre Growth

According to DHL, the investment responds to the rapid expansion of Asia Pacific’s data centre market, which is expected to surpass the United States as the world’s largest by 2030. Rising demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital services is driving significant investment in new facilities while increasing the complexity of supply chains for high-value equipment.

The company said customers increasingly require specialist logistics support to manage compressed construction schedules, cross-border supply chains and the movement of sensitive equipment into active project sites.

Expanding Specialised Logistics Services

As part of the expansion, DHL is investing in advanced white-glove handling capabilities and specialised technical services designed for data centre deployments.

White-glove services include controlled handling of servers and critical equipment, site assessments, route planning, on-site preparation and equipment installation. The company is also expanding technical capabilities such as server rack assembly, cabling, component installation, functional testing and secure packaging.

By carrying out much of this work in dedicated logistics facilities rather than at construction sites, DHL aims to reduce installation risks, minimise site congestion and help customers maintain project schedules.

Part of a Global Strategy

The Asia Pacific expansion follows DHL’s recent investment in dedicated data centre logistics infrastructure in North America and forms part of the group’s broader strategy to support the global growth of digital infrastructure.

According to DHL, combining specialist warehousing, technical expertise and integrated transport services enables the company to provide end-to-end logistics support throughout the entire data centre lifecycle, from equipment sourcing and transportation to installation and ongoing operational support.
