Global transportation and logistics provider Toll Group has officially announced the launch of its new specialized corporate office within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in the Philippines. Operating under Toll’s dedicated Government and Defence (G&D) division, the facility serves as a localized command base to manage multi-modal logistics, theatre supply chains, and regulatory compliance for international military forces and government agencies operating across the Indo-Pacific corridor.
The office began providing direct operational support to military alliance partners in March 2026, anchoring Toll’s long-term deployment strategy within the strategically vital Luzon Economic Corridor.
Multimodal Gateway for Transpacific Defense Operations
The Subic Bay Freeport Zone provides deepwater maritime berths and dedicated aviation infrastructure, making it a critical hub for integrated air, sea, and land logistics. Toll’s new facility is positioned to manage high-stakes defense cargo, supply chain forwarding, and complex theatre movements in strict compliance with host-nation protocols and bilateral international frameworks.
The local base enhances Toll’s capacity to support the joint theater logistics and operational requirements of key defense alliance partner forces regularly participating in regional security exercises, including:
- The United States Armed Forces
- The Japan Self-Defense Forces
- The Australian Defence Force
Toll is currently managing inbound and outbound air and sea freight movements for specialized military cargo, with plans to expand operations into comprehensive, end-to-end tactical supply chain management.
Developing Localized Compliance and Engineering Competencies
Ligert Lee, Philippines Country Manager within Toll Group’s Theatre Supply Chain team, noted that the presence in Subic Bay allows the company to better support defense-related activities for international forces by combining localized ground knowledge with Toll’s broader regional defense experience. He added that the team sees significant opportunities to expand into comprehensive theatre logistics solutions that combine multimodal transport options for all cargo classifications.
Lee also highlighted the domestic economic benefits of the expansion, stating that the office focuses on building up specialized local teams trained in the strict handling, tracking, and customs clearance of highly regulated, secure, and sensitive government cargo. This long-term training initiative is expected to drive high-skilled employment opportunities within the local community.
The Subic Bay rollout forms part of a broader infrastructure investment program by Toll Group G&D to secure compliant, resilient logistics networks across the Indo-Pacific, ensuring complete transparency and adherence to international maritime and defense governance frameworks.
