Wan Hai Lines has announced a significant expansion of its Transpacific network through the launch of the new AP2 service. Developed in cooperation with Ocean Network Express (ONE), the service is scheduled to commence operations in the second quarter of 2026, complementing the carrier’s existing West Coast offerings.
The AP2 service is specifically designed to provide high-speed connectivity for shippers in North and East China. By utilizing direct calls at two of China’s premier gateways, Wan Hai aims to offer enhanced schedule reliability and increased capacity for the transpacific trade lane.
Optimized Port Rotation for U.S. West Coast Access
The new loop features a streamlined rotation that prioritizes major industrial hubs in Asia and key entry points in the United States:
Qingdao – Ningbo – Los Angeles – Oakland – Qingdao
By including both Los Angeles and Oakland, the AP2 service provides comprehensive access to California’s primary logistics corridors, ensuring that goods can reach both Southern and Northern California markets with minimal delay.
Strengthening the Asia–U.S. Trade Link
The launch of the AP2 service reflects Wan Hai’s ongoing commitment to expanding its global footprint and providing more resilient transportation solutions. “The new AP2 service will offer customers a more comprehensive coverage between Asia and the U.S. West Coast, delivering faster and more reliable transportation to meet evolving requirements,” the company stated.
This expansion follows a broader trend of carriers diversifying their service portfolios to manage fluctuations in consumer demand and port congestion. With the addition of the AP2, Wan Hai strengthens its position as a key player in the transpacific market, offering shippers more flexible routing options between China and North America.
