SITC Sustainable Fuels Alliance Initiative Green Shipping Transition

On August 6, 2025, SITC Group took a major step toward the global low-carbon development of the shipping industry by officially signing the “Joint Initiative to Lead the ‘Green’ Power Revolution: Working Together to Create a New Future for Sustainable Fuels.”

The initiative was signed by Mr. Ji Wenguang, President of SITC SHIPPING, at the “2025 Science-Based Targets Development Forum” in Nanshan, Shenzhen. The forum was hosted by the World Wide Fund for Nature (Switzerland) Beijing Office and the Shenzhen One Earth Foundation, along with other organizations.

This move signifies SITC’s entry into a sustainable supply chain alliance launched in collaboration with leading enterprises and institutions, including China Power Engineering Consulting Group, COSCO Shipping Specialized Transport Co., Ltd., CIMC Enric Holdings Limited, and the Climate Investment and Finance Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences.

The core goal of the initiative is to address systemic challenges in the policy, technology, and supply chain of sustainable fuels through collaborative innovation spanning “industry, academia, research, and application.”

As part of its commitment to this green transition—which the company views as both a responsibility and an opportunity—SITC has pledged to accelerate the application of sustainable shipping fuels, optimize the energy efficiency design of its vessels, and establish a carbon emission management system throughout the entire life cycle. The company has set a target to significantly increase the proportion of low-carbon fuels used by 2030. Furthermore, SITC will work closely with upstream and downstream partners to promote the construction of a green supply chain and support the development of international green shipping corridors, committing to accelerate industrial synergy, technological research and development, and talent cultivation to jointly build a low-carbon shipping ecosystem and move towards a zero-carbon future.
