Pacific International Lines (PIL), Singapore’s home-grown shipping line, is proudly celebrating the nation’s 60th year of independence (SG60) with the launch of the first container ship to bear the SG60 logo and the sponsorship of specially designed containers for the 2025 National Day Parade (NDP).

Unveiling the SG60 Vessel
PIL has unveiled its newly built 8,200 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessel, the Kota Ocean, which proudly displays the SG60 logo on its hull. This energy-efficient vessel represents greener energy for the future of shipping.
In a symbolic move, the naming ceremony for the Kota Ocean was held in Singapore in June 2025, marking a departure from the company’s traditional practice of christening vessels at shipyards.

A Decade of National Day Support
As a Principal Sponsor of NDP 2025, PIL is sponsoring 100 specially-designed containers for the celebration, marking a decade of continuous container sponsorship. These containers will support essential logistics at key NDP sites, including the Padang, Esplanade, and Empress Lawn. Following the parade, the SG60-branded containers will be deployed across PIL’s international routes, proudly carrying Singapore’s milestone story across the globe.
Mr. S.S. Teo, Executive Chairman of PIL, expressed national pride, stating, “We are proud to mark Singapore’s Diamond Jubilee with a vessel and container design that reflects our national pride. These symbols will carry Singapore’s story across the seas for years to come.”

Mr. Lars Kastrup, CEO of PIL, added that the company deeply resonates with this year’s theme, “Building Our Singapore Together,” reaffirming PIL’s commitment to contributing to Singapore’s maritime industry and future as it has grown alongside the nation for nearly six decades. Today, over half of PIL’s global services call at Singapore, reinforcing its position as a leading maritime hub.
