OOCL has announced the successful launch of its new China Indonesia Service (CIS3), further expanding its Intra-Asia network. The service commenced its maiden voyage on May 16, 2026, establishing a dedicated, high-speed maritime corridor designed to streamline trade between major manufacturing hubs in South China and key economic gateways in Indonesia.

The introduction of the CIS3 loop provides shippers with a reliable, direct routing option that bypasses traditional transshipment delays, significantly lowering transit times.

Direct Routing to Indonesian Gateways

The CIS3 service focuses on connecting premium South China export centers directly to Indonesia’s primary industrial ports. By deploying dedicated capacity to this trade lane, OOCL addresses the growing demand for rapid supply chain turnarounds between the two regions.

The CIS3 service follows a streamlined port rotation:

Xiamen – Nansha – Jakarta – Surabaya – Yantian – Xiamen

Strategic Hub Advantages

The rotation is engineered to offer comprehensive coverage across the Pearl River Delta and the Fujian province, linking them to Indonesia’s most vital commercial hubs:

  • South China Export Access: Direct calls at Xiamen, Nansha, and Yantian ensure that exporters in China’s primary electronics and manufacturing zones have immediate, weekly access to outbound capacity.
  • Indonesian Market Integration: The service provides direct entry into Jakarta and Surabaya, the two largest metropolitan economies in Indonesia, facilitating smoother logistics for automotive, agricultural, and consumer goods.

Driving Efficiency in the Intra-Asia Network

The rollout of the CIS3 service reflects OOCL’s ongoing commitment to optimizing its regional network deployment. By providing a stable, weekly rotation with optimized transit windows, the carrier offers a highly competitive alternative for businesses managing just-in-time inventory or seasonal cargo.

The service is now fully active, with vessels integrated into the loop to support the resilient flow of goods across this critical Southeast Asian trade corridor.
