Noatum Maritime, part of AD Ports Group’s Maritime & Shipping Cluster, has announced the official opening of a new office in Shanghai to support the growth of its agency and maritime services division, Noatum Maritime Services. This strategic move expands the company’s global network and strengthens its operational presence in China, one of the world’s leading trade and logistics hubs.
The new Shanghai office will enhance Noatum Maritime’s ability to serve charterers, vessel owners, operators, and ship managers with a comprehensive suite of port and cargo services. Backed by global experience across more than 814 ports in 118 countries, the company aims to support growing client demand both within China and globally. This new site builds on Noatum’s existing physical footprint in 77 ports across 17 countries.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the launch of the Shanghai office, attended by senior dignitaries including H.E. Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Hawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment; Mansour AlMulla, Deputy Group CEO at ADQ; and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group. The new branch shares premises with Noatum Logistics’ commercial office in Shanghai, reinforcing AD Ports Group’s integrated service model across maritime and logistics.
Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO – Maritime & Shipping Cluster at AD Ports Group, commented: “Establishing a presence in Shanghai for our Noatum Maritime Services team is a significant step forward in our expansion strategy. Shanghai is a key node in the global supply chain, and our presence here enables us to work more closely with charterers and owners in the region while offering responsive, high-quality services to our global clients.”
The move follows the earlier launch of AD Ports Group’s Beijing office, part of a wider strategy to expand across Asia’s major maritime hubs. Together, these milestones reflect the Group’s long-term vision to scale its service offering and deepen commercial engagement in key international markets.
