Nippon Express Holdings has announced the acquisition of a 20% stake in Cold Chain Bangladesh Limited (CCBL), a third-party logistics provider specialising in domestic distribution across Bangladesh. The investment was made through the group’s regional subsidiary, Nippon Express (South Asia & Oceania) Pte. Ltd., and completed on 15 May 2025.
The move marks a strategic step in expanding the NX Group’s domestic logistics capabilities in Bangladesh, a market where the company has been active since 2012. While its initial operations focused on international forwarding—particularly for the apparel industry—the growing demand for robust domestic logistics solutions has prompted a shift toward deeper local integration.
Headquartered in Dhaka, CCBL operates a nationwide logistics network with infrastructure that supports a wide range of cargo types, including temperature-controlled goods. Its capabilities make it a valuable partner in serving Bangladesh’s expanding consumer base and evolving supply chain needs.
By leveraging CCBL’s domestic assets and operations, Nippon Express aims to strengthen its position in the Bangladesh logistics market. The acquisition will also allow the NX Group to offer integrated, end-to-end supply chain solutions combining international forwarding with local distribution.
“This investment is part of our strategy to capitalise on growth opportunities in Bangladesh and enhance our service offerings for customers across industries,” said a company spokesperson. “With demand for logistics rising both internationally and domestically, partnerships like this are essential for supporting dynamic, resilient supply chains.”
Nippon Express has indicated that it will continue to explore strategic investments in emerging markets to reinforce its presence in South Asia and unlock long-term value for clients and stakeholders.
