MSC Iroko Service New Direct Call Cape Town

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a strategic upgrade to its Iroko service, introducing a new direct call at the port of Cape Town. This enhancement is specifically designed to provide a direct and efficient connection between Cape Town and major ports in Asia, significantly improving service quality for both dry and reefer cargo.

The addition of the direct call underscores MSC’s commitment to strengthening its network and actively supporting the growing trade volumes between South Africa and key Asian markets by offering dependable and customer-focused connections.

Enhanced Port Coverage and Transit Times

The first vessel to call at Cape Town on the upgraded rotation will be the MSC Anchorage, with an estimated arrival date between December 11-12, 2025.

The new direct connection offers highly competitive transit times from Cape Town to Asia, including:

  • Singapore: 15 days
  • Xiamen: 21 days
  • Ningbo: 24 days
  • Nansha: 27 days

The service also provides fast transshipment connections to other key destinations, such as Chattogram in approximately 28 days, Shanghai in 25 days, and Port Klang in 23 days.

The new, comprehensive rotation for the Iroko service is as follows:

Ningbo – Nansha – Singapore – Pointe Noire – Cotonou – Apapa – Tincan – Onne – Lobito – Cape Town – Singapore – Xiamen – Ningbo
