MSC showcased its project cargo and breakbulk capabilities at Breakbulk Americas 2026, held from 22–23 September at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
The event brought together representatives from across the project cargo and breakbulk sectors, providing MSC with an opportunity to present recent project experience and highlight its capabilities in managing oversized, heavy and complex shipments.
Supporting Complex Project Cargo Movements
MSC’s Breakbulk and Project Cargo teams provide tailored transport solutions for high-value and oversized cargo, supported by the company’s global shipping network and specialist project cargo expertise.
The company’s approach combines planning, engineering support, operational coordination and execution, helping customers manage complex cargo movements from origin through to final delivery.
At this year’s event, MSC highlighted several recent projects completed across its global network.
Among them was the transport of nine railcars from Belgium to Alexandria, Egypt, forming part of a wider programme involving 495 units scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2028. The project supports the expansion of Cairo’s metro network.
MSC also presented a major shipment involving approximately 6,000 cubic metres of chillers and compressors transported from Houston to Port Qasim, Pakistan. The cargo was moved within a single sailing, demonstrating the company’s ability to coordinate large-volume project shipments through its liner network.

MSC USA’s Project Cargo team, based in Houston, was joined at Breakbulk Americas by specialists from MSC offices around the world.
The event provided an opportunity for the company to engage with customers and industry partners on complex project requirements while sharing operational experience across sectors requiring specialised cargo handling.
Through its project cargo network, MSC continues to support customers with solutions covering planning, engineering, transportation and delivery for oversized and technically demanding shipments.
