Interasia Construction 7000 TEU Vessel Steel Cutting Ceremony

The construction of Interasia’s new 7,000 TEU container vessel officially began with a steel cutting ceremony held on August 11, 2025, at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard (SWS) in China. The event, marking the commencement of construction for the vessel (Hull No. 1656), signifies a major step in the company’s fleet modernization strategy.

Marking the Milestone

During the ceremony, Mr. Brendan Williams, Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President, signed the official certificates on behalf of Interasia. The ceremonial first cut of steel was then performed by the precision beam cutting machine, symbolizing the start of the vessel’s construction phase.

The new vessel is currently scheduled for delivery in June 2026. Upon entering service, it is expected to significantly strengthen Interasia’s overall service capability. This investment underscores the company’s long-term strategy to provide reliable, competitive, and environmentally responsible shipping solutions to its customers, supporting its commitment to fleet modernization and sustainable growth.
