Gebrüder Weiss is strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia with the launch of a new country organization in Thailand, effective 1 June 2025. The logistics company’s new Bangkok office will provide air and sea freight services, customs handling, and cross-border land transport, marking another step in its regional growth strategy.

“The new country organization allows us to close a strategic gap and create direct connections to central Asia-Pacific markets for our customers,” said Lothar Thoma, Managing Director Air & Sea at Gebrüder Weiss. “Thailand is an important export location with strong trade links to the USA, China, Japan, Australia, and Singapore—markets where we also have a strong presence.”

Thailand’s export industry continues to thrive, recording trade volumes of approximately USD 300 billion in 2024, up five percent from the previous year. Electronics, vehicles, machinery, and food products dominate the country’s outbound shipments, which account for 86 percent of its industrial exports.

The 20-member Bangkok team brings extensive expertise in international freight management, with plans to expand services into warehouse logistics over the medium term, focusing on the automotive and high-tech sectors. “Our employees have many years of experience in international transport management, and Thailand is a key market for our continued expansion,” added Cristian Predan, Area Manager South-East Asia at Gebrüder Weiss.

With this move, Gebrüder Weiss now operates across nine countries in East and Southeast Asia and Oceania, spanning 35 locations with approximately 800 employees. The company’s network already includes Australia, Greater China, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam.
