GEODIS Honored Twice 2025 Supply Chain Resilience & Sustainability Awards

Logistics Provider Recognized for Ground Transportation Excellence and Corporate Social Responsibility in Asia Pacific

GEODIS, a leading global logistics provider, has secured two top distinctions at the 2025 Supply Chain Resilience & Sustainability Awards, further demonstrating its position as a trusted partner in developing secure and low-carbon supply chains. The awards, organized by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) APAC, recognize companies that show exceptional performance in strengthening both resilience and sustainability worldwide.

GEODIS was specifically recognized for the operation of its road network in Asia, winning in the categories of Ground Transportation Excellence in Asia Pacific (MNC) and Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence.

Ground Transportation Excellence

The Ground Transportation Excellence Award rewards GEODIS’ secure cross-border transport solution, which delivers reliability, security, and sustainability across the region. This solution, which features scheduled departures, day-definite deliveries, and end-to-end visibility, offers a competitive alternative that is more cost-effective than air freight and faster than ocean freight.

To ensure security, the road network operation employs advanced IoT (Internet of Things) technology and equipment for transporting goods for high-tech, automotive, semiconductor, and FMCG sectors. The network is certified to TAPA TSR 2023 Level 1, the highest standard in road freight security, for Singapore and Malaysia operations. This is achieved through end-to-end visibility via GPS tracking, sensor-equipped prime movers, trailers, and containers, with all movements monitored 24/7/365 by a professional Security Operations Centre.

Commitment to Environmental Responsibility

The Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Award highlights GEODIS’ focus on safety, security, and environmental responsibility across its road network. GEODIS is actively developing more fuel-efficient road transport in Asia by using Euro-5 trucks fueled by B10 (10% biodiesel blended with conventional diesel), a measure resulting in up to 25% reduction in carbon emissions.

To further enhance sustainability and efficiency, GEODIS employs several key practices:

  • Double-Deck Racking: Containers are fitted with this system to protect cargo from compression damage while optimizing the load of each single trip, consequently reducing both transportation cost and tailpipe emission per pallet.
  • Route Optimization: The company utilizes advanced route-optimization algorithms to prioritize the most fuel-efficient paths, minimizing unnecessary detours and idle time at border crossings.

Lakshmanan Venkateswaran, GEODIS Cluster Managing Director, Southeast Asia, stated that the awards are a testament to the dedication and expertise of their teams across Asia Pacific, reinforcing the company’s mission to deliver reliable and responsible logistics solutions. GEODIS pioneered cross-border road transportation between Malaysia and Thailand in 1995, and its road network now connects Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and key gateways in mainland China.
