Eight-Storey Landmark Designed for 2027 Completion, Features Bold Cantilever and Sustainable Workspace

DP World has initiated the next phase of construction on its striking new global headquarters at Expo City Dubai. The eight-storey landmark is being designed to embody innovation, sustainability, and the future of global trade.

A recent ceremony marked the completion of the foundations on site. The event was attended by Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, and led by His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World. The ceremony underscored the strong partnership between the two organisations, reflecting Dubai’s ambition and global outlook.

Key Architectural and Functional Features

Scheduled for completion in 2027, DP World’s new home will serve as a hub for global connectivity and collaboration within Expo City. The facility is set to accommodate 850 staff and welcome up to 2,000 visitors daily.

The headquarters’ most distinct architectural element is a 10.45-metre cantilever, one of the boldest structural features in the region, which creates the illusion that the building is floating above the landscape.

Key features of the 301,940 sq ft facility include:

  • The first two levels will be open to the public, housing cafes, restaurants, and meeting rooms intended to foster dialogue and connection.
  • The Flow Pavilion and fountain from Expo 2020 Dubai will be permanently retained as a centrepiece, having served as a symbol of DP World’s mission: to make trade flow.
  • The building will feature the Middle East’s first fully automated parking facility of this scale, capable of housing nearly 1,000 vehicles, including 100 dedicated spaces for Electric Vehicles (EVs).

Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy stated that Expo City Dubai was built as a platform for innovation, sustainability, and global connection, values that perfectly align with DP World’s vision. His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem called the construction milestone “the beginning of DP World’s next chapter,” where technology, sustainability, and talent will converge to shape the future of trade.
