DP World New Container Management System Brisbane

DP World, in partnership with logistics software provider OneStop, has launched a new container management system at its Fisherman Island Terminal in Brisbane. The new system, named OptiBook, went live on July 10 and is designed to enhance efficiency and provide greater visibility for transport operators.

OptiBook operates as an extension of the existing Vehicle Booking System (VBS), allowing operators to manage their entire container workflow from a single screen.

Streamlining Terminal Operations

The new system was implemented to reduce dwell times, optimize truck utilization, and promote a more efficient supply chain. Transport operators now have access to an enhanced Container List screen that provides crucial information, including hold status, estimated discharge dates, and storage start dates. A new Notify Me feature alerts operators when containers are ready for booking.

According to Nicolaj Noes, Executive Vice President, Oceania, at DP World, the new platform is part of a broader strategy to improve the company’s offerings in Brisbane, which is a key trade hub for the Queensland economy. The system was initially rolled out at the vessel level to ensure a smooth transition for all users.

Increased Visibility for Operators

Sam Askin, CEO of OneStop, stated that the transition to OptiBook marked a significant step in delivering greater visibility and efficiency across the supply chain. He added that the platform’s enhanced features provide operators with clearer oversight and more control over their daily workflows. The new system is designed to work seamlessly with existing VBS processes, while also providing improved access to booking information and real-time communication through the OneStop Deliver App.
