DHL Supply Chain has opened a climate-neutral logistics centre in Halle (Saale), Germany, strengthening its presence in the Leipzig-Halle region and expanding capacity for current and future customers. The facility is part of the DHL Leipzig-Halle Campus and is already fully operational.
The new centre provides 34,000 square metres of warehouse space and can accommodate up to 55,000 pallet positions. Designed to serve a broad range of industries, it offers efficient domestic and international distribution, supported by strong transport connections and proximity to Leipzig/Halle Airport.
The site comprises three halls of 10,500 square metres each and includes 27 loading docks. Built to DGNB Gold sustainability standards, the facility features photovoltaic systems and energy-efficient LED lighting. More than 450 people are currently employed on site, with a further 100 positions expected when additional capacity is commissioned.

Aiste Slabokaite Heid, Business Unit Director North-East for DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps, said the centre provides a comprehensive range of logistics services, including warehousing, picking, hazardous materials handling, batteries management, value-added services and automated solutions. She noted that the location enables late cut-off times for next-day global deliveries via Leipzig Airport.
The facility is connected to DHL’s domestic parcel and express network as well as regional rail and highway systems. Katrin Hoelter, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps, said the expansion would support sustainable growth in the technology sector and beyond, adding that space remains available for additional customers seeking to benefit from the site’s capabilities and location.
