DACHSER Food Logistics New Locations Europe Integration Acquisitions Continues

DACHSER Food Logistics has expanded its European presence with new branches in Waddinxveen, the Netherlands, and Parma, Italy. Both developments support the company’s strategy to strengthen its network while advancing the integration of recent acquisitions.

Waddinxveen: Consolidating Services Under One Roof

The new Waddinxveen facility, located near Rotterdam, provides around 17,000 pallet spaces across ambient, chilled and frozen temperature zones. The warehouse forms part of the Rotterdam Logistics Centre, which brings together DACHSER’s European Logistics, Food Logistics, contract logistics and Air & Sea Logistics services at a single site. The air and sea freight division also operates a Container Freight Station in Waddinxveen for export cargo consolidation.

Alexander Tonn, COO of Road Logistics, said the site demonstrates how the company can offer combined services for European and global customers through close coordination between business lines.

Stefan Behrendt, Managing Director DACHSER Food Logistics, said the opening marked the first time in the Netherlands that all services from acquired companies Müller Fresh Food Logistics and Frigoscandia had been combined under the DACHSER brand. The facility supports both warehousing and cross-docking for temperature-controlled and ambient goods.

Parma: First Joint Facility with DACHSER & Fercam Italia

DACHSER Food Logistics has also opened a new branch in Parma on the premises of the DACHSER & Fercam Italia joint venture, which has been part of DACHSER since 2024. The site includes 12,200 square metres of warehouse space, with 2,000 square metres dedicated to refrigerated storage. It offers national and international customers general cargo food transport, as well as chilled and ambient warehousing services.

Located in Italy’s “Food Valley,” the Parma operation combines the reach of DACHSER’s European general cargo network with food logistics expertise tailored to one of the country’s leading export regions.

Alexander Tonn said the expanded locations in Waddinxveen and Parma reflected the company’s European growth ambitions and its objective of becoming a fully integrated logistics provider.
