Upgraded Intra-Asia Loop Features Dual Manila Gateways and Express Japan-Straits Connectivity

CNC, the intra-Asia specialist of the CMA CGM Group, has announced a significant revamp of its Japan Philippines Express (JPX) service. By increasing the vessel deployment to a total of five ships, the carrier aims to deliver unmatched schedule reliability, allowing shippers to optimize their supply chains with greater precision and reduced buffer times.

The addition of the fifth vessel is designed to stabilize the rotation against regional port congestion, ensuring that cargo remains on schedule throughout the complex intra-Asia network.

Expanded Service Features and Transit Speeds

The revamped JPX service introduces several strategic enhancements aimed at improving market reach and transit efficiency:

  • Dual Manila Gateways: The service now includes a direct connection from Port Klang and Singapore to Manila, featuring a newly added call at Manila North. By offering access to both Manila North and Manila South, CNC provides greater flexibility for businesses targeting the Philippine capital.
  • Malacca Straits Express: The service maintains industry-leading speeds between Japan and the Malacca Straits, with transit times of just 8 to 10 days from Kobe to Singapore and Port Klang.
  • Direct Manila-Japan Link: The northbound leg offers a fast and direct connection from Manila to Japan, specifically catering to time-sensitive exports such as perishables and electronic components.

Revised Port Rotation

The JPX service follows a comprehensive weekly rotation, connecting primary and secondary Japanese ports with Southeast Asian hubs:

Tokyo – Yokohama – Omaezaki – Yokkaichi – Nagoya – Kobe – Singapore – Port Klang – Manila North – Manila South – Tokyo

By including calls at Omaezaki and Yokkaichi, CNC continues to support regional Japanese manufacturers, providing them with a direct gateway to global transshipment hubs in Singapore and Port Klang.

The deployment of a consistent five-vessel fleet reaffirms CNC’s commitment to the Japan-Philippines-Straits trade lane, offering a robust and dependable solution for the evolving needs of the intra-Asia market.
