CEVA Logistics Fagioli Group Expanding Heavy Lift Project Capabilities

Strategic Acquisition to Create Global Powerhouse in End-to-End Project Logistics

CEVA Logistics has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire 100% of the Fagioli Group, a world leader in specialized hauling and heavy lifting. The move significantly bolsters CEVA’s ability to manage high-stakes, complex projects from the early engineering phase through to final installation.

Fagioli, which reported 2024 revenue of 216 million euros, is globally recognized for its expertise in hoisting and heavy transport for the energy, offshore, and civil engineering sectors. The acquisition remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Technical Expertise and Asset-Heavy Solutions

The acquisition integrates Fagioli’s highly specialized workforce and vast equipment fleet into CEVA’s global network. This combination allows for a “one-stop-shop” project logistics offering:

  • Specialized Talent: CEVA will welcome 450 employees, including over 40 specialized engineers, adding deep technical knowledge to its existing team of 1,000 project experts.
  • Proprietary Assets: The deal includes thousands of owned assets, ranging from crawler and gantry cranes to self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) and strand jacks.
  • Engineering Capabilities: CEVA can now provide end-to-end solutions, moving beyond freight forwarding to include the direct execution of complex onsite installations.

Strategic Growth and Global Synergy

The addition of Fagioli aligns with CEVA’s aggressive M&A strategy under the CMA CGM Group. It follows the recent acquisition of Borusan Lojistik in Turkey and the formation of the CEVA Almajdouie Logistics joint venture in Saudi Arabia.

Mathieu Friedberg, CEO of CEVA Logistics, noted that Fagioli’s worldwide reputation and technical expertise would provide a significant boost to the company’s ability to offer state-of-the-art solutions. The acquisition also strengthens CEVA’s footprint in North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe, where Fagioli maintains direct relationships with major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies.

By combining CEVA’s global freight forwarding reach with Fagioli’s heavy-lift assets, the group is positioned to lead the market in the increasingly demanding global project logistics sector.
