Yang Ming PSA International Supply Chain Decarbonisation

Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation and PSA International have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the adoption of lower-carbon solutions across the maritime supply chain.

The agreement aims to support end-to-end supply chain decarbonisation through closer collaboration on emissions reduction initiatives spanning both sea and landside logistics.

Expanding Low-Carbon Supply Chain Solutions

Under the partnership, Yang Ming and PSA will combine their respective capabilities to develop integrated sea-land decarbonisation solutions for cargo owners.

Yang Ming will contribute its low-carbon shipping initiatives, including its EcoSea+ green transport service, while PSA will leverage its electrified terminal operations and integrated supply chain capabilities to support lower-emission logistics beyond the port.

The companies said the collaboration will provide customers with transparent and verifiable options to help reduce Scope 3 transportation emissions.

Supporting Maritime Decarbonisation

Yang Ming said it had reduced the carbon intensity of its fleet by 63.32% by the end of 2025 compared with 2008 levels, as part of its long-term commitment to improving environmental performance through energy efficiency and emissions reduction.

PSA, meanwhile, continues to advance its Node to Network strategy, integrating port and supply chain operations to help reduce emissions across the wider logistics ecosystem.

Developing Digital Carbon Solutions

Beyond emissions measurement and verification, the partnership will focus on developing a digital book-and-claim framework together with a joint maritime-land carbon insetting solution.

According to the companies, the initiative is intended to provide cargo owners with a transparent and accountable pathway to support their supply chain decarbonisation goals while reinforcing collaboration across the maritime value chain.
