With international trade becoming increasingly interconnected, carriers that can build efficient networks across key markets play an important role in supporting cargo flows. Hede Shipping has continued to expand its footprint across Asia, supported by a network that extends beyond ocean freight to inland and multimodal transport.

Headquartered in Tangshan, Hebei Province, China, within the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Economic Zone, Hede Shipping is strategically positioned in one of Northern China’s key industrial and logistics hubs. According to Alphaliner data as of March 18, 2026, Hede Shipping is ranked 24th among the world’s container shipping lines, with a total carrying capacity of more than 89,206 TEUs. Its service network spans major ports across China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea and the U.S. West Coast.

In addition to container shipping, the company also provides integrated logistics services covering coastal transport, barge services and multimodal solutions tailored to different cargo needs.

In this issue, LM spoke with the executive team at DP3, Hede Shipping’s official shipping agent in Thailand, including Ms. Waraporn Jungcharoen, Managing Director, Mr. Terachart Bunphungbarame, Operations Manager, and Mr. Thanayus Mahatthapong, Sales and Marketing Manager, about the company’s direction and growth in the Thai market.

Ms. Waraporn said, “Since Hede Shipping appointed D Power Three Transport as its official shipping agent in Thailand in 2023, we have seen continued growth in both cargo volumes and our customer base. The combination of Hede Shipping’s strength in China and DP3’s local market expertise has helped improve service capabilities. This partnership supports smoother coordination, more efficient information management, and responsive local customer service, which has helped us build trust with both domestic and international clients.”

Supporting Thai-China Trade

Ms. Waraporn Jungcharoen

Thailand is an important market for Hede Shipping, particularly for exports of agricultural products and fresh fruit to China. These shipments depend on speed, reliability and precise temperature control.

Mr. Thanayus said, “Thailand is one of our most important markets, especially for agricultural cargo and fresh produce moving to China. We continue to develop our services around customer requirements, with a strong focus on speed, schedule reliability and overall service quality.”

Hede Shipping currently links Thailand’s main ports with major Chinese gateways, particularly Nansha and Shanghai. These ports act as key entry points for the onward distribution of Thai cargo across China.

Extending Reach Beyond the Seaport

One of Hede Shipping’s main strengths is its ability to connect coastal ports with inland river ports across China, giving customers wider access to major industrial areas.

Mr. Thanayus said, “Many carriers on this trade lane only move cargo as far as Nansha. Hede Shipping, however, operates an extensive barge network that connects with a wide range of inland river ports across China. That gives us a clear competitive advantage.”

Within China, the network also covers key ports in East and Central China, including Pinghu, Longkou, Zhenjiang, Taicang, Nantong, Jiangyin, and Wuhu, as well as Jingtang Port and Huanghua Port in North China. This broad coverage gives customers more destination options and greater flexibility in inland cargo distribution and logistics planning.

Expanding Regional Connections

Hede Shipping has also continued to develop its intra-Asian network, using Nansha as its main regional transshipment hub.

Its current services include:
Nansha – Ho Chi Minh – Nansha
Nansha – Laem Chabang – Bangkok – Nansha
Nansha – Haiphong – Nansha
Nansha – Jakarta – Nansha

The company also connects cargo to wider trade lanes through services such as:
Shanghai – Nansha – Laem Chabang – Bangkok
Shanghai – Nansha – Port Klang – Nhava Sheva – Karachi

Together, these routes strengthen trade links between China, Southeast Asia and South Asia, while supporting more efficient cargo flows across the region.

A Link to the U.S. West Coast

Beyond Asia, Hede Shipping has also expanded into the trans-Pacific trade through its HDS3 service, which provides a direct connection between Nansha and Los Angeles.

This creates an additional opportunity for cargo from Southeast Asia, including Thailand, to access the U.S. market through Hede Shipping’s wider network.

Beyond Reefer Cargo

Mr. Terachart Bunphungbarame

Over the past year, Hede Shipping has become increasingly recognized among Chinese exporters for its dry container services via Nansha and Shanghai, receiving positive feedback across a range of sectors. In Thailand, the company has also built a strong position in the transport of fresh fruit to China using reefer equipment.

The company now maintains a sizeable container fleet capable of supporting a wider variety of cargo, including industrial products and raw materials.

Mr. Terachart said, “One of Hede Shipping’s key strengths is its large fleet of modern dry containers, which allows us to handle different types of cargo efficiently.”

On reefer services, Mr. Terachart added, “The company places great importance on regular inspection and maintenance. We have a specialist team and a standardized inspection process in place to ensure every unit is in the right condition and able to maintain product quality throughout transit.”

Building an Integrated Network

With a transport network covering sea, river and multimodal services, Hede Shipping is continuing to expand its role in regional logistics.

The development of new routes and partnerships with local agents such as DP3 in Thailand reflects the company’s broader aim of strengthening international trade connections and offering customers more flexible access to key markets.

As trade patterns continue to evolve, Hede Shipping is focused on building a transport network that connects major markets more efficiently across Asia and beyond.
