Pacific International Lines (PIL) has recently introduced the groundbreaking China Calcutta Service (CCS), a weekly service that establishes the first direct connection between South China and Calcutta. This innovative service launched on 2 July, is set to play a pivotal role in facilitating trade and bolstering economic growth between these two regions.
PIL’s General Manager of Intra-Asia Services, Surendran Mathilagath, emphasized the company’s commitment to driving economic progress, stating, “PIL is pleased to be a pioneer in offering a direct China to Calcutta service, supporting the high growth and trade in these two economies.” Furthermore, this service offers customers seamless access to key markets in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, as well as Bangladesh, the East Coast of India, and Myanmar.
The CCS service operates on a rotation schedule that includes ports in Xiamen, Shekou, Singapore, Calcutta, and back to Singapore and Xiamen, illustrating PIL’s dedication to providing comprehensive and tailored solutions to meet the market’s evolving needs.
