ZIM LNG Dual-Fueled Vessels

ZIM has announced new long-term charter agreements for ten 11,500 TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fueled container vessels. These agreements are part of the company’s ongoing fleet strategy.

According to Eli Glickman, President & CEO of ZIM, these agreements provide access to an important vessel segment and further strengthen ZIM’s core LNG fleet, which is considered a critical commercial differentiator. The versatility of this capacity is expected to be well-suited for ZIM’s various global trades, enhancing its commercial agility and growth potential.

The expansion of ZIM’s LNG fleet aligns with the company’s decarbonization objectives and is intended to solidify its position in carbon intensity reduction within the industry. Operating LNG capacity has proven commercially advantageous for ZIM, and the company anticipates increased demand for environmentally friendly shipping options, making access to LNG capacity even more beneficial in the future.

The addition of these ten LNG dual-fuel vessels is expected to help keep ZIM’s modernized fleet competitive and support profitable growth over the long term.
