Wan Hai Lines Far East East Mediterranean (FM1)

Wan Hai Lines successfully expanded its global reach with the recent launch of its new Far East to East Mediterranean direct service, branded as FM1. The inaugural voyage commenced as scheduled in mid-September 2025, providing customers with a fast and direct sea link to meet their growing demand between the two regions. This expansion strategically enhances Wan Hai’s network connectivity and market presence on a key global trade artery.

Service Structure and Rotation

The FM1 service is being operated by a fleet of modern vessels with capacity ranging from 4,300 to 5,000 TEUs. By offering a direct route, Wan Hai significantly reduced transit times, ensuring cargo moves quickly and reliably.

The comprehensive port rotation for the new FM1 service is as follows:

SHANGHAI – NINGBO – NANSHA – SHEKOU – PORT KLANG – JEDDAH – AQABA – SOKHNA – (SUEZ CANAL) – ALEXANDRIA – IZMIT – ISTANBUL AREA – (SUEZ CANAL) – SOKHNA – JEDDAH – PORT KLANG – SHEKOU – SHANGHAI.

This carefully designed loop ensures excellent coverage in major Chinese and Southeast Asian loading hubs, while providing crucial access to key ports in the Red Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean, including Turkey (Izmit and Istanbul Area) and Egypt (Alexandria). The use of the Suez Canal for transit highlights the service’s commitment to speed and efficiency, solidifying the FM1 as a premium offering in the competitive Far East-Mediterranean trade.
