PIL Intermodal Rail Service Indonesia

Pacific International Lines (PIL) has announced the successful completion of the trial for its inaugural intermodal rail shipment in Indonesia. This achievement marks a major advancement in enhancing the company’s inland logistics network within the country.

The trial shipment originated from the North China Indonesia Service (NCI) and arrived at the Koja Terminal in Jakarta on October 3rd. From the terminal, 25 containers were seamlessly transferred to Cikarang Dry Port (CDP) via rail.

This new intermodal solution significantly streamlines the inland portion of the supply chain. The rail journey between Jakarta and CDP was completed in an efficient 6–8 hours, allowing for door-to-door delivery to customers within a single day.

PIL highlights that this successful intermodal journey reaffirms how its integrated logistics solutions can dramatically boost supply chain efficiency for its customers.

The new rail service complements PIL’s existing maritime offerings, specifically its two direct services into Jakarta from China (North/South) and Korea:

  • NCI (North China Indonesia Service)
  • KCI (Korea China Indonesia Service)

By leveraging the rail connection to Cikarang Dry Port, PIL is opening up new opportunities for fast, reliable inland delivery, strengthening its overall service package in the Indonesian market.
