Container Carrier Recognized for Long-Term Partnership, Operational Excellence, and Maritime Talent Development

Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) proudly announced that the company received three significant awards at the “2025 Joint Luncheon cum Award Presentation Ceremony,” an annual major event organized by the Hong Kong Marine Department and the Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA) on August 29, 2025.

OOCL was recognized for its deep commitment to high operational standards and the future of the local maritime sector, receiving the following accolades:

  • Hong Kong Shipping Registry (HKSR) 35th Anniversary Longstanding Partnership Award
  • Award for outstanding performance in Port State Control (PSC) for the year of 2024
  • Award for Company Recruiting the Most Hong Kong Sea-going Cadets in 2024

Recognition of Dedication and Operational Quality

The special Longstanding Partnership Award was presented to commend OOCL’s consistent support for the Hong Kong Flag since the HKSR’s establishment 35 years ago. OOCL expressed deep honor in receiving this recognition for its foundational support.

Additionally, the Outstanding Performance in Port State Control (PSC) Award affirms the company’s expertise and excellent performance in ship management, highlighting OOCL’s dedication to maintaining high-quality operations as a carrier.

Finally, the Award for Company Recruiting the Most Hong Kong Sea-going Cadets acknowledges OOCL’s ongoing efforts to nurture young maritime talent in Hong Kong. OOCL noted that having repeatedly received these latter two awards recognizes the company’s efforts in upholding the reputation of the Hong Kong Flag and supporting the development of local maritime talent.
