NX Group Four All-Electric Trucks Shanghai

Nippon Express (China) Co., Ltd. and Nippon Express Global Logistics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.—subsidiaries of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC.—have introduced four all-electric trucks in Shanghai, marking a significant step in the Group’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and climate action.

The initiative aligns with NX Group’s long-term vision of becoming a globally influential logistics company with strong environmental credentials. In support of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the Group has already deployed over 12,000 eco-friendly vehicles in Japan, including hybrid, fully electric, and hydrogen-powered models.

Zero-Emission Operations in a Carbon-Conscious City

Shanghai is accelerating efforts to replace diesel vehicles with new energy alternatives to improve urban air quality and achieve its carbon neutrality targets. In May 2025, NX China and NX Shanghai introduced four large electric trucks—each with a payload capacity of 8,060kg—for intra-city and short-haul transport.

These zero-emission vehicles not only reduce greenhouse gas output and urban noise levels, but also feature advanced route optimisation, energy management, and real-time operational tracking via an integrated dispatch and remote monitoring platform. This enables NX Group to deliver reliable, low-carbon logistics solutions tailored to the evolving needs of its customers.

Driving Long-Term Sustainability Goals

The deployment in Shanghai represents another milestone in the NX Group’s global sustainability roadmap. By integrating cutting-edge vehicle technologies and smart logistics systems, the company is enhancing its ability to provide environmentally responsible services across major logistics hubs.

Through continued investment in sustainable transport solutions, NX Group reaffirms its commitment to improving quality of life, addressing climate change, and contributing to the development of greener, more resilient societies.
