Strategic Focus on Food Security and iReefer Technology at World’s Largest Food Show

MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) has announced its first-ever participation in Gulfood 2026, the world’s premier food and beverage sourcing event. Taking place from 26–30 January, this year’s exhibition marks a historic milestone as it expands to a dual-venue format across Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and the newly upgraded Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) at Expo City.

MSC will be stationed at Booth GG-D30, where its global F&B team will showcase how the carrier’s 50 years of expertise in perishable logistics are supporting global food security.

Pioneering the Future of Perishables

As a debut exhibitor, MSC is highlighting its “end-to-end” approach to the cold chain, moving beyond traditional port-to-port shipping to offer fully integrated land and sea solutions.

  • Smart Logistics (DEC – Expo City): MSC’s presence aligns with the newly launched Gulfood Logistics sector at Expo City, focusing on the infrastructure required to move over 1.5 million products across 195 countries.
  • iReefer Digital Ecosystem: Central to MSC’s showcase is the iReefer technology. This IoT-driven solution provides shippers with real-time visibility into temperature, humidity, and GPS location via the myMSC platform, significantly reducing food loss and waste.
  • Specialized Commodity Care: The MSC team will provide technical consultations for specific sectors, including meat, seafood, fruit, and beverages like coffee, which require precise atmospheric controls to maintain quality.

Supporting a $11 Trillion Industry

With the global F&B market projected to reach $11.37 trillion by 2030, the Middle East has emerged as a critical redistribution hub. MSC’s entry into Gulfood 2026 reflects the strategic importance of the region in the company’s global network.

“Access to safe and nutritious food is fundamental to global stability,” a spokesperson from MSC stated. By integrating state-of-the-art reefer technology with a standalone global network, MSC aims to provide seamless connectivity for growers, wholesalers, and retailers alike.

The MSC booth will also feature specialists from the Food Safety Management (FSM) protocol team to discuss compliance with ISO 22000 standards and the 24/7 monitoring provided by MSC’s dedicated Control Towers.
