MSC Asia–North Europe Network Enhanced Service Rotations

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a major revamp of its Asia–North Europe network, focusing on direct connectivity and optimized transit times. The enhancement affects three flagship services—Griffin, Condor, and Silk—designed to provide more reliable global coverage for shippers across the East-West trade corridor.

The updated rotations are being phased in throughout late March and early April 2026, introducing more streamlined loops and strategic port calls.

Griffin Service: Expanded Southeast Asia Reach

The revamped Griffin service strengthens connections between major North Asian hubs and the UK/Benelux region, while significantly boosting coverage in Vietnam and Thailand on the return leg.

First Effective Voyage: M/V YM WONDERLAND, ETA Busan 04 April 2026.

New Rotation: Busan – Kaohsiung – Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian – Singapore – Southampton – Rotterdam – Southampton – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Haiphong – Yantian – Busan

Condor Service: Direct North Europe Gateway

The Condor service remains a vital link for Chinese exports, offering direct and fast access to the major European hubs of Felixstowe, Hamburg, and Antwerp.

First Effective Voyage: M/V HMM OSLO, ETA Qingdao 31 March 2026.

New Rotation: Qingdao – Ningbo – Yantian – Singapore – Algeciras – Felixstowe – Hamburg – Antwerp – Qingdao

Silk Service: Streamlined Northern Loop

The Silk service has been optimized for speed, focusing on the heavy-traffic ports of Shanghai and Busan with direct, high-frequency calls to Northern Europe’s primary gateways.

First Effective Voyage: M/V ONE INTEGRITY, ETA Shanghai 06 April 2026.

New Rotation: Shanghai – Busan – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Le Havre

Optimized Reliability and Market Coverage

By adjusting these rotations, MSC aims to mitigate port congestion and provide more “buffer” in the schedule to ensure on-time arrivals. The inclusion of Algeciras in the Condor rotation and the addition of Haiphong and Vung Tau in the Griffin loop reflect MSC’s strategy of capturing growth in both the Mediterranean transshipment market and the burgeoning Southeast Asian manufacturing sector.

These enhancements allow shippers to benefit from:

  • Reduced Lead Times: Faster direct transits from China to Northern Europe.
  • Increased Capacity: Use of ultra-large container vessels (ULCVs) like the ONE INTEGRITY and HMM OSLO.
  • Regional Flexibility: Improved options for cargo originating in Thailand and Vietnam via the enhanced Griffin rotation.
