MSC Direct South America–Middle East Reefer Link Abu Dhabi

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is introducing a direct service from South America to the Middle East, with the maiden sailing set for October. The service will feature Abu Dhabi as a key transhipment hub, supporting temperature-sensitive shipments destined for key Gulf markets.

Optimised for reefer cargo, the new connection provides South American exporters and Middle Eastern importers with improved transit times and network coverage. Cargo will reach Abu Dhabi in under 33 days, while deliveries to Shuwaikh and Hamad are expected in 38 and 39 days, respectively.

The first sailing will depart from Itajaí aboard the MSC Shreya B., voyage QJ539R.

Updated Port Rotation

The full service rotation is as follows:

Buenos Aires – Rio Grande – Itajaí – Navegantes – Paranaguá – Santos – Rio de Janeiro – Walvis Bay – Abu Dhabi – Singapore – Qingdao – Busan – Ningbo – Shanghai – Shekou – Singapore – Colombo – Rio de Janeiro – Santos – Paranaguá – Itapoá – Itajaí – Buenos Aires

This route expansion underscores MSC’s ongoing investment in strengthening connectivity between Latin America and the Middle East, particularly for agricultural and perishable exports.
