Malaysia Shipping Corporation (MSCorp), a PIL Group container line specializing in intra-Malaysia and Brunei trade routes, has completed a cold chain transport operation for Polar Ice Cream, one of Malaysia’s largest ice cream manufacturers.
The shipment demonstrated the operational performance and precise temperature management of PIL’s newly commissioned reefer equipment for sensitive food products.
Cold Chain Operations and Fleet Capabilities
To handle the highly temperature-sensitive frozen cargo, MSCorp deployed a 20-foot reefer high-cube container from Pacific International Lines’ (PIL) updated equipment fleet.
Key operational details of the shipment include:
- Advanced Equipment Deployment: Utilized new-generation reefer units designed for high energy efficiency, enhanced operational reliability, and exact temperature regulation.
- Transport Route and Service Loop: The cargo was loaded at Port Klang aboard the vessel Kota Jaya, operating under MSCorp’s Kota Kinabalu Muara Service (KMS) loop.
- Delivery Destination: Successfully discharged at Kota Kinabalu, maintaining strict product integrity throughout the transit.
Strategic Focus on Cold Chain Expansion
MSCorp’s investment in modernized reefer containers reflects a broader strategy to expand cold chain capabilities across East and West Malaysia and Brunei.
By integrating new equipment into its regional liner services, the carrier aims to address growing market demand for reliable, temperature-controlled transport of perishable food products and sensitive commodities.
