The “K” LINE Group organized a series of worldwide cleanup activities from late May through early July, coinciding with World Oceans Day on June 8.
The voluntary initiatives reflect the group’s ongoing commitment to biodiversity conservation and marine environmental protection, a core priority alongside climate change mitigation established in FY2023.
Global Employee Participation and Collection Efforts
The two-month campaign saw expanded participation across the company’s international footprint:
- Participant Scale: Approximately 630 employees and family members across 12 “K” LINE Group companies globally participated in the events, surpassing the previous year’s turnout.
- Focus on Land-Based Waste: Teams conducted litter collection across local beaches, coastal areas, and urban sites surrounding corporate offices.
- Mitigation of Marine Plastics: Activities targeted land-based sources of plastic pollution to prevent debris from entering ocean ecosystems via urban waterways.
Corporate Philanthropy and Sustainability Commitments
Building on its established framework, the “K” LINE Group will make monetary donations to environmental conservation organizations scaled to the total number of cleanup participants during this fiscal year.
The initiative aims to enhance internal environmental awareness while supporting broader ocean conservation and sustainable society goals across the group’s global network.
