FedEx has officially launched its new North China regional headquarters in the Shunyi District of Beijing, further strengthening its position in the Chinese market and bolstering cross-border logistics operations across the region. The new facility, located at the Beijing Airport Logistics Base near Beijing Capital International Airport, forms an integrated logistics network with the company’s existing FedEx Beijing International Gateway.

The new headquarters, which began operations in June, is designed to improve logistics efficiency in North China while supporting the company’s broader expansion strategy in China. It incorporates a series of advanced sustainability and connectivity features, reflecting FedEx’s dual focus on green operations and technological innovation.

“This marks a significant milestone in our development in the Chinese market,” said Audrey Cheong, Vice President of Operations for FedEx China. “The new regional headquarters will serve as a strategic hub, deepening our local customer relationships and enhancing supply chain performance across the country. As we continue to scale, we’re committed to delivering more agile, sustainable solutions built on cutting-edge technology.”

Equipped with smart sensor lighting, water-saving systems, and a rooftop solar panel array, the site is designed to lower energy and water consumption while maintaining high operational efficiency. The facility uses eco-friendly construction materials and modern interior design to offer a more sustainable, employee-friendly workspace.

Beyond sustainability, the site features an intelligent operational network. More than 1,000 devices are connected through IoT to FedEx’s global systems, allowing real-time monitoring and improved equipment management. A dual-line backbone network ensures reliable data transmission, while Wi-Fi 6 and 4K video conferencing systems support seamless global collaboration. An intelligent server room provides continuous oversight of operational conditions, enhancing safety and resilience.

With its strategic location and technological capabilities, the new headquarters is expected to play a central role in enabling Chinese businesses to tap into international markets more efficiently. By boosting logistics performance and connecting local enterprises to FedEx’s global delivery network, the facility is positioned to support China’s cross-border trade growth and contribute to broader economic development.

FedEx now aims to continue expanding localized services and driving logistics innovation throughout the region, leveraging smart infrastructure to meet growing demand for reliable, environmentally conscious supply chain solutions.
